Key Goals:
The Inner East Community Health Service will achieve its mission through:
- collaboration: with the community, hospitals, local health and community service providers and all levels of government to achieve a comprehensive and coordinated health service system
- high quality health services: providing accessible accreditated services which are responsive to the needs of the community
- health promotion: providing activities such as screening, health information, health education and skill development, community action and organisational development to achieve population health gain. Health promotion strategies will have an impact on the social, economic and environmental conditions that determine health.
- community development and advocacy: working with the community to build community networks which will enhance health and well being and identify and address local health issues
- community participation: provide mechanisms for improved community participation in the service.
- targeting: ensuring those who are most disadvantaged are the highest priority for service
- value for money: maximising resources by providing efficient and effective health care services.
These key goals are central to achieving the IECHS mission. They will form the basis of key objectives and action plans for each major service area.
